Jack Russell Breed Story
The Jack Russell Terrier was first bred by a Reverend called Mr. John Russell, who was a hunting enthusiast. In his last year at Oxford University in the early 19th century, he bought a small white and tan terrier bitch, which he called Trump. This bitch was to form the basis for his breeding program.
