Colour: Grey mottling Markings: Brown patches on different pads of the body and root of the tail. Often tan markings on the head and limbs. Lifespan: A well built spaniel with good bone and strong limbs. The skull is wide and rounded and the occiput is prominent. The stop is sloping to the muzzle which is long, wide and tapering towards the nose. The nose is brown, medium sized and nicely rounded. The eyes are well opened with a frank expression and are dark amber in colour. The ears are set low and frame the skull with wavy, silky hair. The lips are of medium thickness and are slightly let down, but not hanging. The chest is deep, wide and reaches down to the elbow. The forequarters are well muscled and feathered and the hindquarters are straight, broad and well muscled. The tail hangs down in a curve; convex or concave.

The Picardy is a good natured and courageous dog who is devoted to his master and family. Hardy with great endurance, he is a persistent hunter with a remarkable ability to scent; an excellent pointer and retriever.
